HARIPUR:

Work on the Tehsil Complex building in Khanpur has been stopped due to shortage of funds.

The project started in February 2020 and the target was set to complete the project within a period of 24 months.

Haripur Deputy Commissioner Aun Haider Gondal, accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Imran Khan Jadoun and Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance and Planning Humeera Mehmood, discussed the issue in a meeting held on Wednesday.

During their inspection, ADCs Imran Khan Jadoon and Humeera Mahmood, alongside Captain Retired Aoun Haider Gondal, received a comprehensive briefing from Bilal Afzal regarding the progress of the project.

The project, originally estimated at Rs139.094 million, has temporarily ground to a halt, primarily due to funding constraints.

Responding to queries from local journalists, Haider Gondal, expressed unwavering commitment to resuming work on the project as soon as sufficient funds become available. He emphasised that this endeavour holds the promise of addressing the challenges faced by the residents of Khanpur at their very doorstep.
