The Punjab Emergency Service (PES) had made elaborate arrangements during Eid holidays to deal with emergencies in the city, a PES spokesman said on Friday. Emergency vehicles were deputed at all Eid prayers sites and sensitive areas, he said. The spokesman said that staff supervised by doctors was deployed at these sites to provide pre-hospital emergency cover.

Dr Rizwan Naseer, the director general, visited the rescue stations on Eid to monitor the arrangements. The spokesman said that the rescuers were also available at district control rooms and emergency rescue stations as were emergency ambulances and fire vehicles.

He said that additional rescue posts were established in various areas of the city to deal with possible emergencies.
