Strong tremors were felt in the Indian national capital New Delhi and neighbouring parts on Tuesday afternoon.
The National Center for Seismology of India stated on X that an earthquake of 6.2 magnitudes on the Richter scale occurred at 2:51 p.m. local time (1151GMT), with the epicentre in Nepal.

On Monday, an earthquake of magnitude 5.2 struck the Indian northeastern state of Meghalaya, causing tremors in neighbouring states as well as Bangladesh's capital Dhaka, and some other parts of the country.
There was no report of loss of life or damage to property due to the earthquake.
