This initiative aims to not only revamp the shopping environment but also provide essential food items to the public at official rates. Bachat Bazars serve as a crucial means to alleviate the burden of inflation on citizens, yet the absence of fundamental amenities and infrastructure has long plagued both buyers and stallholders.
The vision of transforming this market into a model bachat bazaar extends beyond mere cosmetic changes.
This ambitious project, led by the Bureau of Supply and Prices of the Sindh Government, involves the allocation of dedicated stalls for women, farmers, and students, within Gulshan Sunday bazaar.
Efforts are underway to make the market more vendor and shopper-friendly.
Concrete platforms, cement counters, and shade sheds are being installed atop sturdy iron frames, ensuring stability and convenience. Paved entrances and stall corridors will eliminate the challenges faced by buyers navigating uneven paths, particularly benefiting elderly buyers and senior citizens.
