LAHORE:

The Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) has cracked down on an impostor who was operating a clinic in Gulberg under false pretenses.

Dr Shahrezad Faruk Czar, who also goes by the name Dr. Zaar, had been claiming to be an endocrinologist with counterfeit foreign qualifications, despite being registered only as a medical graduate (MBBS) with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).

Dr Zaar had been offering specialized healthcare services in diabetes, sexual disorders, and weight loss, all while deceiving patients with forged post-graduate degrees. His official registration with the PMDC, however, indicates that he holds an MBBS degree from Karachi University.

In response, the PHC conducted an operation and subsequently sealed Dr. Zaar's clinic, which was located within a private hospital in Gulberg. Both the hospital administration and Dr. Zaar have been summoned to appear before a PHC hearing committee.

This isn't the first time Dr. Zaar has been embroiled in illegal practices. In mid-2022, he was operating as an endocrinologist and providing similar services.
