Man gets life sentence for murder

Additional sessions judge sentenced the accused Iftikhar Ahmed to life imprisonment

ATTOCK:

A local court in Attock on Wednesday sentenced a man to life imprisonment and fined Rs0.5 million in a murder case in Garhi Matni within the limits of Rangoo police station of Attock.

The additional sessions judge sentenced the accused Iftikhar Ahmed to life imprisonment.

According to the first investigation report (FIR) registered under sections 302 and 311 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) registered against the accused at Rangoo Police Station in 2021, the accused shot dead Bilal Ahmed over some pity dispute and fled.

Later, he was arrested by the police and confessed to murdering the man. During the proceedings, the prosecution contended that substantial evidence was available on record which established the involvement of Iftikhar in the murder of Bilal.
