Woman killed over a domestic dispute

HARIPUR:

A man allegedly killed his wife in front of their children in a local market, Ghazi, late Monday night.

According to the police, the accused has been identified as Sajid, a resident of Swabi. The police added that the deceased named Mehwish Bibi succumbed to her injuries before reaching the hospital.

The body was shifted to Haripur Trauma Centre for completing medico-legal formalities.

The police said that the woman was killed over a domestic dispute. A case has been registered against the victim’s husband.

The other day, Khanpur Municipal Officer Noor Nabi while taking notice of the recent motorboat fire incident in Khanpur inspected several boats and sealed them.

On the instructions of the District Administration, Khanpur TOR Kiran Zeb along with the police, Rescue 1122, and checking staff conducted a thorough examination of the Khanpur Dam vicinity including nearby hotels.

They also checked boats available at various boat club jetties including speed boats and life jackets. Dilapidated jetties and several motorboats were sealed while worn-out life jackets were confiscated. During inspection, Kiran Zeb said derelict motorboats can cause severe accidents anytime therefore, they should not be used.
