ISLMABAD:

Despite intensified efforts to combat dengue, the garrison city has reported 25 new cases in the last 24 hours, with nine of these patients currently in critical condition.

According to official statistics, a total of 366 individuals have tested positive for dengue during this season, out of which 303 have successfully recovered and returned home, while 63 remain hospitalised.

Among the new patients, five are currently, receiving medical care at the Holy Family Hospital (HFH) and an additional four are under treatment at the Benazir Bhutto General Hospital (BBH).

The emergence of eight patients from Chaklalala, six from Garja, five from Dhaman Syedan, and five from Chamanzar has prompted authorities to declare these areas as new hotspots. The situation is particularly dire in previously hotspot-declared areas, where 60 patients have been reported from Dhok Munshi, 27 from CTC, 16 from CTC, and 14 from Kotha Kalan.

Officials sources claimed that efforts to curtail the spread of dengue are being enforced with greater vigilance, as 50 FIRs have been filed against those responsible for the presence of dengue larvae in the past 24 hours.
