Govt committed to eliminate crime: CM

Justice Baqar emphasised that his administration was determined to uphold the rule of law

Sindh's Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar has affirmed his government's commitment to combat and eliminate street crimes in the metropolitan city and putting an end to the menace of kidnapping for ransom in the riverine area.

While speaking to the media on MA Jinnah Road where he was attending a Chehlum procession, Justice Baqar emphasised that his administration was determined to uphold the rule of law and would not allow anyone to take matters into their own hands. He was accompanied by Home Minister Brig (retd) Haris Nawaz, IG Police Raja Riffat Mukhtar, AIG Khadim Rind, and other officials.

The caretaker CM reported that nearly all abducted individuals have been successfully rescued, with efforts ongoing to secure the remaining victims. He stressed his government's uncompromising stance on police diligence in ensuring the security and safety of citizens. The CM also highlighted that significant progress in addressing the menace of street crimes. He commended the proactive measures taken by the home minister and the police chief to improve the situation.
