RAWALPINDI:

Pakistan Rangers deployed on the country's eastern international border arrested six Indian nationals for smuggling narcotics, weapons, and ammunition into the Pakistani territory from July 29 to August 3, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

"It is surprising that these smugglers could cross the heavily fenced border under perpetual surveillance of Indian BSF (Border Security Force). It shows the likely complicity of BSF troops in narco and weapons smuggling. In addition, it is also surprising that Indian BSF troops have so far failed to report six missing citizens," the ISPR said.

The military's media wing added that the smugglers will be dealt with as per the law of the land for illegally entering Pakistan and indulging in nefarious activities.

The apprehended individuals were identified as Gurmeet, son of Guldeep Singh, Shinder Singh, son of Bhora Singh, Juginder Singh, son of Thakur Singh, and Vishal, son of Jagga, belonging to Ferozpur. While Rattan Pal Singh, son of Mahinder Singh, hails from Jalandhar and Garvender Singh, son of Mukhtiar Singh, is a resident of Ludhiana.
