PESHAWAR:

The 4x4 jeep rally, a compelling initiative aimed at bolstering tourism in Waziristan, concluded with fervor in Dera Ismail Khan on Monday.

Launched from Peshawar’s Qayyum Stadium, the rally was a collaborative effort between the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, Frontier 4x4 Club, and the army and district administration of South Waziristan.

The event, aligned with Independence Day celebrations, featured exhilarating mud crossing and river crossing challenges.

The spirited Waziristan Jeep Rally on August 13th and 14th drew an enthusiastic crowd, as onlookers gathered at the river crossing site to witness the daring drivers navigating the waters.

Starting from Peshawar ’s Qayyum Sports Complex Sadar, the Jashan Azadi rally embarked on a two-day journey, reaching Razmak on the first day and proceeding to Gomal Zam Dam on the second day.

With over 50 4x4 off-road vehicles and other categories participating, the rally showcased a captivating display of prowess.

The final day witnessed a gripping seven-kilometer race at Gomal Zam Dam in South Waziristan, divided into three categories: category A for race jeeps, category B for vehicles with 2,000 cc and above, and category C for vehicles ranging from zero to 2,000 cc.

The rally’s significance extends beyond mere competition.

It serves as a platform to showcase and endorse these breathtaking locales, while concurrently fostering tourism growth in these regions.
