KALLAR SYEDAN:

Inflation has brought severe financial hardships to the salaried class and labourers, creating challenges for them to make ends meet.

Even the middle-class segment of society is finding it hard to maintain a dignified lifestyle.

The prices of essential items like milk, bread, vegetables, pulses, flour, ghee, sugar, etc. have surged dramatically, adding to the concerns of persons with low-income backgrounds.

The impact of inflation has been particularly harsh on the salaried class and daily wage labourers. The recent hike in the prices has further outstripped the purchasing power of the average individual.

The escalation in inflation has led shopkeepers to charge inflated prices for goods, with little intervention from the authorities. Price control magistrates also seem helpless in the face of soaring prices. The government's decision to raise petroleum product prices has compounded people's woes.

According to citizens, transporters are charging excessive fares and shopkeepers are fleecing customers under the pretext of rising fuel costs.

As a consequence, lower-grade government employees and laborers are grappling with significant financial distress. Meanwhile, public voices are calling for immediate government action to rein in inflation.
