A pet dog viciously mauled a seven-year-old boy and his mother while its owner instead of rescuing the victims kept yelling at his dog, ‘Tiger control yourself’.
According to the police, seven-year-old Muhammad Ahmed, a second grade student living in Marine Flats in Clifton area of Karachi, was going to school at 7:30am with his mother, Sidra, when a tied pet dog suddenly attacked them.
The dog bit the child on his right cheek and when his mother leapt to his rescue the animal mauled her hand. On the noise, people nearby rushed and rescued Sidra and her son Ahmed.
The child’s grandfather took them to Jinnah Hospital for dressing and anti-rabies shots.
I am studying in the second grade. I will I hope the wound will heal soon. The school was opened after the summer vacations and I was very happy to go but could not make due to the incident.
Muhammad Dawood, the grandfather of little Ahmed, said they have filed a complaint with the police after completing the medico legal procedure. But no legal action has been taken so far.
Sidra, the 30-year-old mother of the injured Ahmed, while talking to The Express Tribune, said that it was Ahmed’s first day at school after the summer break. He was dressed in a new school uniform and shoes. The dog’s eyes first fell on his chubby cheek, then it attacked. She was heartbroken due to so many stitches on the innocent child’s face.
