A man who had allegedly secretly married his wife's sister was shot dead and the woman injured by her brothers.
Police handed over the body to the heirs after the post-mortem and registered a murder case against two brothers of the women.
According to the police, 46-year-old Muhammad Sajjad, a resident of Sufi Town, had married Nasreen Bibi 27 years ago and the couple had three daughters and three sons. Three years ago, Sajjad secretly married Nasreen's sister Sidra and rented a house for her in Usman Town. They also had a son.
After their marriage was revealed, the woman's brothers Babar and Akmal Nadeem barged into their house and shot and injured Sajjad Ahmed and their sister Sidra.
They were shifted to a hospital where Sajjad succumbed to his injuries.
Kharrianwala police seized the body and handed it over to the heirs after post-mortem.
The police registered a murder case against the brothers on the complaint of the father of the deceased, Rafiq.
