Pakistani cricketer Shahnawaz Dahani caught Twitter’s attention with a video of him singing. His fellow team member Hassan Ali took to the micro-blogging site to share the clip, captioning it “New singer in town”.

In the video, the 24-year-old cricket player is seen smiling and standing confidently with a microphone in hand, singing a few lines of the song Jab Koi Baat famously covered by Atif Aslam and Shirley Setia. The off-melody background music being played combined with Dahani’s amateur singing skills resulted in a short 29-second clip that was probably only made and posted for fun.

His off-tune rendition of the cover song instigated some hilarious reactions from Twitter users and cricket fans, with many comparing his notes to that of Chahat Fateh Ali Khan’s.

Chahat Fateh Ali Khan shot to fame when he sang the anthem for the eighth installment of the Pakistan Super League (PSL8). He became an internet sensation as Pakistani music fans commented on the anthem and many users trolled him for his singing skills and his stage name—an indisputable reference to Pakistan’s most celebrated qawaal and singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

Here are just some of the reactions that Dahani’s singing garnered from tweeps.
