Drama, tension, and glorious weddings: 'Made In Heaven' Season 2 trailer packs a punch

Highly anticipated series will air in August

After a four-year hiatus, the much-awaited second season of the popular drama series Made In Heaven is set to begin streaming on Prime Video on August 10, 2023. In a bid to get fans riled up with excitement, Prime Video India put out a trailer for Season Two, which has garnered 10 million views within just a day of being uploaded to the streaming platform’s official YouTube channel.

The trailer shows that Season Two will, in the same vein as Season One, be set against the backdrop of opulent wedding festivities as the fan-favourite wedding planning duo, Tara Khanna and Karan Mehra, navigate their personal lives while also carrying out their demanding work duties.

Beginning on a light-hearted note with glimpses of palatial wedding venues, vibrant décor, beautiful wedding attire, and other related snapshots capturing the phenomenon that is a Big Fat Indian Wedding, the mood of the trailer shifts to a more sombre tune midway. Characters, both new and old, are seen struggling to deal with ongoing internal conflicts and fighting other external battles. A few darker themes are also hinted at with noteworthy signs of a physical abuse plotline possibly being explored this season.

Snippets from the seven-episode season reveal that many of the unresolved conflicts from the previous season will be addressed and new engaged couples will be introduced into the mix of the existing pool of characters. While Sobhita Dhulipala and Arjun Mathur will reprise their roles as the lead characters, other members from the cast of the first season, including Kalki Koechlin, Jim Sarbh, Shashank Arora, and Shivani Raghuvanshi, will also be returning.

The overall ensemble cast also comprises actors Mrunal Thakur, Radhika Apte and Shibani Dandekar. Dia Mirza, Sameer Soni, and Sanjay Kapoor will be making guest appearances over the course of the show’s second instalment.

 

The new season promises the same, if not heightened, level of grandeur and lavish displays of wealth that was as much a part of the original allure of the series as its compelling storylines. Expected to follow the same anthology-style format of storytelling, the upcoming season delves into the complex lives of new characters, explores remnant tensions between returning characters, and guarantees a drama-packed, binge-worthy watch for viewers.  

With creators Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti helming the project, the second season of Made In Heaven is anticipated to be yet another success that will have fans hoping for a lesser wait time for the next instalment.
