In a brazen heist, two men transporting cash on a motorcycle were held up outside a residence in Chaklala Scheme 3, Rawalpindi, and deprived of Rs6.1 million at gunpoint on Thursday.
According to the complaint filed at the Airport police station, two men Faizal Aziz and Ghulam Qadir had collected Rs6.1 million from a travel agency on Mall Road.
When they reached home, two armed men on a motorcycle that had no number plate held them at gunpoint and took the cash, said the complaint which was filed by one Irfan Abbas.
It said that the attackers fired on them thrice, with a 30-bore pistol, but they were unhurt. It added that the victims would be able to identify the men who attacked them.
Meanwhile, in another brazen incident which was also caught on CCTV, two armed men on a motorcycle roamed the streets within the remits of Sadiqabad police with their faces uncovered and weapons concealed.
They then snatched cash and cell phones from two citizens before easily making their escape.
The city police chief, Khalid Hamdani has taken notice of the incident and issued instructions to the superintendents of Pothohar and Rawal divisions to trace the accused and arrest them immediately.
