PNCA hosts 35th National Exhibition of Paintings

Artists bring together numerous sets of skills and various mediums to show

Pakistan National Council of the Arts hosted the 35th National Exhibition of Painting 2023 in collaboration with the National Artists’ Association of Pakistan, a group exhibition of painters across Pakistan on Friday at the National Art Gallery.

PNCA Director General Ayoub Jamali, NAAP General Secretary Ghulam Mustufa, Artist Association of Punjab Chairperson Amna Pataudi inaugurated the ceremony.

The exhibition included works by senior artists from Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad including Mian Ijazul Hassan, Amna Pataudi, Dr Shahida Mansoor, Ghulam Mustafa, Bin Qalander, Tanveer Farooqi, Mazhar Hameed, Muhammad Javed, Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi, Dr Rahat Naveed Masud, Dr Musarrat Hassan, Dr Sumera Jawad, Mehboob Ali and others. These artists brought together numerous sets of skills and various mediums to the show and the exhibition was a great visual experience of a group of multi-talented senior and junior artists showcasing their artworks on a single platform.

This particular exhibition lets the audience make their own journey through the bright, intricate and hypnotic creations that these artists have added to the canon of traditional, contemporary and abstract art.

A large number of people, including artists, students, and government officials attended the event. Several students visited the exhibition and interviewed the artists about their techniques and art practices.

The show will remain open for public for one week.
