ISLAMABAD:

A 17-year-old student was gang-raped at gunpoint within the remits of Shalimar police station in the federal capital, with the police saying on Wednesday that they had arrested three out of the four people involved in the heinous crime with those in custody having confessed to the crime.

The incident comes a day after two other rape cases were reported in the capital – one of an eight-year-old girl and another of a woman lured on the pretext of a job.

The latest reported case involving the student took place on Tuesday, according to the first information report. The survivor’s mother told the police that her daughter left her house in Sector E-9 for school at 8am. When she returned home at 3:30pm, she saw that her daughter was distressed while her uniform was torn, it continued.

The daughter told the mother, according to the FIR, that a boy named Aanish was at the gate of the school when she arrived there. The two knew each other and were friends. He talked her into going with him and he found herself at a house in Saniari on the outskirts of the city. At least three other boys were there, it stated. The FIR identifies the boy’s friends as Afad or Fadi, Hassan, and Junaid.

The complainant alleges that first Afad raped the girl on gunpoint while another boy stayed in the room. Upon resistance, she was beaten by the two boys who then raped her, the FIR continued.

According to police sources, the main accused, Aanish, was been arrested from Sector H-9. Two others were arrested from the village where the rape is reported to have taken place.

Police sources added that the girl had identified the three accused in an identification parade.
