PESHAWAR:

A renowned Afghan female singer has voiced annoyance over the circulation of false information regarding her death, saying that she had a car accident in Pakistan after which someone took her picture and spread it across various social media platforms.

"The media should have contacted me directly, as well as my family, particularly my mother, since she too was involved in the car incident and is alive," Hasiba Noori said in a video statement.

Noori said the dissemination of such misinformation and misrepresentation has also caused distress to her family back in Afghanistan. She urged everyone to refrain from spreading unverified information, stressing that such actions were unacceptable.

"I feel safe and appreciate the support of various media platforms. They have not caused me any distress. My work continues unabated, just as it did in Afghanistan," the Afghan singer stated.

"Nobody in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has threatened me, nor has anyone forced me to give up my singing career. All reports suggesting otherwise are false and fabricated."

“It is a request to Afghan brothers and sisters that if someone tells you that such and such a person has cut off your ear, please put your hand on your ear and check if it is true before running after him.

Hasiba, who was unable to provide her perspective on the matter immediately after the accident as she lost her mobile phone, expressed her desire to clarify the situation amidst growing confusion.

"I kindly request everyone to refrain from spreading unconfirmed or inauthentic news. I would also like to express my gratitude to those who have shown concern for my health through various means of communication," she said.

Additionally, she said that her phone was lost in the accident, preventing her from posting updates on her social media accounts.
