Recruitments of daily wage employees at the Pind Dadan Khan Tehsil Headquarters Hospital have been canceled despite completing all the necessary processes.
According to sources, the hospital had advertised five temporary daily wage positions, and candidates with MA, MSc, BA, BSc degrees, and computer skills applied for these roles.
A formal exam was conducted, and a merit list was prepared to select the qualified candidates.
They said however, the appointments were halted due to significant political pressure, leading to disappointment among the candidates who had gone through the interview and written test process and made it to the merit list.
Sources said this issue is not new, as during the previous government's tenure, job positions were also given to preferred political workers based on ‘recommendations.’ The public and social circles expressed their dismay, arguing that tehsil headquarters hospital should prioritise competent and educated employees on the basis of merit.
The recruited daily wage employees work for a period of 89 days, which can be extended based on their performance and reputation.
However, in this case, the recruitment process was halted, and Assistant Commissioner (AC) Pind Dadan Khan sent back the candidates who had come for interviews early in the morning.
