As many as 3,165 graduates received their degrees at the 19th convocation of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) in Jamshoro on Saturday.
The graduating class consisted of 2,555 individuals who successfully completed diverse undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Among them were 1,381 graduates in the field of MBBS, 383 accomplished BDS graduates, 220 Doctors of Physiotherapy, 184 Doctors of Pharmacy, 154 talented Biomedical Engineers, 233 graduates specialising in Bachelor's in Nursing, and 610 postgraduates excelling in Dentistry, Public Health, and Basic Medical Sciences.
In recognition of their outstanding achievements, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ikram Din Ujjan extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the degree recipients.
He shed light on the university's ambitious plans for the future.
Prof Ujjan expressed gratitude to the Sindh government for allocating land in Thatta district, where an international campus of LUMHS will be established to cater to expatriate Pakistanis and students from friendly nations.
Sindh Minister for Universities and Boards Muhammad Ismail Rahoo took the opportunity to commend the efforts of the PPP's government in Sindh in uplifting the health and education sectors. He highlighted the remarkable progress made over the past 15 years, as the number of universities in Sindh increased from 11 to 27.
