Actor Sooraj Pancholi, who was recently acquitted in the Jiah Khan abetment to suicide case, began making headlines as a potential contestant for the popular reality show Bigg Boss. Speculation grew due to his close association with Salman Khan, the show's host. However, Sooraj has now refuted these rumours and stated that he would never participate in a reality show.
In an interview with Bombay Times, Sooraj shot down these claims, saying that despite the large audience reality shows have, he would much rather do something that aligns with his personality. Moreover, he expressed a desire to focus on his acting career, given that the long-drawn case is over.
“I will never do a reality show," stated the actor firmly. "I wasn’t approached by them either. It’s not something I would do even though I know it has a huge viewership,” He further explained that participating in a reality show does not align with his personality and that he wants to focus on his acting career in films and web shows. Continuing on, he said, “I lost out on acting opportunities in the past because of my travel restrictions and a sword that was dangling on my head.”
Sooraj, the son of Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, also expressed his willingness to be part of a documentary where he can share his side of the story. He stated, "If that happens, I would love to be a part of it as I can say things that haven't been said yet." In a previous interview with the publication, he had expressed his desire to share his perspective.
In April of this year, Sooraj Pancholi was declared not guilty in the abetment to suicide case. Following his acquittal, he released a statement expressing the pain he and his family had endured over the past ten years. Jiah tragically died by suicide in June 2013, leaving behind a six-page suicide note allegedly penned by her, where she mentioned being cheated on, raped, and forced to undergo an abortion.
Sooraj spoke about his regained dignity and confidence after being cleared by the court. He shared, "The verdict has taken 10 long painful years and sleepless nights. But today I have not only won this case against me, but I have also won my dignity and confidence back." He expressed gratitude that the ordeal has finally come to an end, not only for himself but especially for his family. Sooraj acknowledged the importance of finding peace after enduring such a challenging period.
The actor stated, “I don’t know who will give me these 10 years of my life back to me, but I am glad that this has finally come to an end not only for me but especially for my family. There is nothing bigger than peace in this world.”
