KARACHI:

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman visited Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) and expressed grave concerns over the deteriorating situation of affairs in and around the health facility, run by the local bodies.

The JI leader said that doctors at the hospital have been protesting over nonpayment of salaries for the past three months.

On the occasion, he urged the protesting doctors not to opt for strike and continue serving the patients.

He said that the PPP government has been running two parallel systems under which the house officers in Karachi receive Rs45,000 per month, whereas the doctors from other areas of the same province receive Rs69,000 per month.
