ISLAMABAD:

Lashing out at the former premier, Federal Minister for Climate Change Senator Sherry Rehman has asserted that Pakistan should not be treated as Imran’s personal cricket ground, and that politics and governance should not be approached like a mere T20 game.

Senator Rehman alleged that there was compelling evidence indicating that the PTI chief had deliberately instigated the mob towards violence, with the belief that it would provide him with a political advantage.

“You have become a parody of yourself, as the events of May 9 turned into a bonfire of your vanities. The entire nation witnessed it, and there is ample evidence to demonstrate how you incited, masterminded, and provoked mob violence,” she added.

“It is utterly absurd to believe that deploying armed rioters against state installations, Edhi ambulances, radio stations, and monuments honoring our war heroes as part of your self-serving 'save-Imran' campaign would result in any political gains for yourself,” she tweeted.

The minister stated that PPP has been a target of numerous politically charged persecutions over its history, but it has never resorted to attacking the country's institutions as Imran did.
