SAJAWAL:

The sole ambulance belonging to Civil Hospital Sajawal was apprehended in Karachi while transporting drugs. The ambulance driver, Rashid Kathi, has been missing since the first day of Eid, and his contact numbers also remain unreachable.

According to reliable sources, it has been discovered that Rashid Kathi was arrested by Karachi police for smuggling 300 to 400 sacks of betel nuts, a substance used in the manufacturing of gutka, using the government high school ambulance. Despite attempts to contact the District Health Officer (DHO) of Sajawal regarding this incident, no response was received. However, upon reaching out to the Civil Hospital Sajawal Accountant, Fazil Soomro, it was confirmed that both the ambulance and the driver were indeed missing.

However, he claimed to be unaware of the driver's arrest and the presence of drugs in the ambulance seized by the police. Soomro said that efforts are underway to locate the driver and the missing ambulance. The local residents have expressed their deep sorrow and anger over the shocking revelation of the ambulance from Civil Hospital Sajawal being involved in drug-related activities. They have urged the authorities to take strict action against those responsible for exploiting the hospital's ambulance for illegal drug trade.
