OKARA:

Two “robbers” were killed in two alleged police encounters while five others managed to escape.

DPO Mansoor Aman told The Express Tribune that the “robbers” had been “looting” people near the Ten 4/L area of the Cantt Police Station.

Upon receiving the information, the SHO of Cantt Police Station, Muhammad Nasir, reached the spot along with the police force.

As soon as the alleged robbers saw the police, they opened fire on them.

As a precautionary measure, the police fired in retaliation, killing one alleged robber while three of his accomplices escaped by taking advantage of the dark.

The second police “encounter” took place near Khangarwali Bridge, Sadar Okara, Faisalabad Road.

Alleged bandits had been robbing people.

The SHO of Saddar Police Station, Malik Arshad, had been on routine patrol.

As soon as the “robbers” saw the police vehicle, they started firing at it.

One robber was killed in the retaliatory fire by the police while two robbers escaped.

The DPO said that Eidul Azha was approaching, and police had been put on high alert in Okara.
