Indian star Sobhita Dhulipala has come a long way from the runway to the big screen. The Modern Love actor's journey from becoming a critically acclaimed star is a testament to her passion, dedication, and raw talent.

With her unconventional choices, versatile performances, and ability to connect with audiences, Dhulipala has firmly established herself as a rising star in the Indian film industry. While she continues to take on challenging roles and push the boundaries of her craft, she recently revealed her success didn't happen without its fair share of hurdles.

While speaking with The Indian Express, Dhulipala said that during her advertising days, she was told many times she was not fair enough or that she wasn’t pretty enough. However, that didn’t deter her from her path, but only made her realise that people’s perception of beauty was simply ‘narrow’.

“When you are starting out, everything is a battle. I am not from the movies. I remember in my ad auditions I was told many times that I am not ‘gori’ (fair) enough. There were these things that you see at the ad level, where I was told to my face that I am not pretty enough. Not that I was (dejected)," the actor told the publication.

She said that instead, she started brainstorming ways that she could be more creative and still be a part of this industry despite what people thought of her looks, as she was immensely passionate about it. “That’s when you start thinking out of the box, instead of waiting for a brilliant successful commercial filmmaker to ‘discover’ you. What is in my control is to go for auditions, give my 100%,” Dhulipala concluded.
