RAWALPINDI:

The Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital in Murree will have a dialysis unit starting July 15, with the hospital equipped to carry out a wide-range of minor and major surgical procedures.

The caretaker provincial minister for primary health and population welfare, Dr Jamal Nasir, visited the hospital and observed that the number of incoming tourists visiting the area increase during the summers. As a result, it is difficult to manage the hospital and people face inconvenience, he added.

He said to facilitate tourists during the summer season and in the upcoming Eid holidays. All the doctors and consultants will be on duty and cameras were being installed to ensure security, he added. Dr Nasir said he would personally monitor the hospitals in Murree and Kotli Sattian. The presence of doctors and associate staff in all departments including gynaecology and pediatrics would be ensured.

He instructed the staff to be available in the pathology lab round-the-clock for patients. Moreover, there will be an increase in staff deployment in the out-patient departments (OPD). This would save the time of both patients and hospital staff, he added.
