Faisalabad local admin races to prepare for monsoon season

Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Director General (DG) Muhammad Asif Chaudhry said that a comprehensive strategy was being implemented to deal with flood-related emergencies in the district.

During his visit to Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Head Office on Thursday, he said that 32 drainage machines and 78 de-watering sets were in operational condition, while 33 generators were provided at WASA disposal stations.

He further elaborated that there were 38 disposal stations in the city, 18 of which had double connections with electricity feeders, while 20 stations had single power connection. As a result, 33 generators would remain standby to use them where needed during emergency.

DG FDA directed WASA staff to improve their efficiency and check their machinery and other gadgets regularly so that their faults could be addressed.

He also directed WASA officers to monitor flood-related arrangements and post staff at emergency flood relief camps alert so that food emergencies could be dealt with in minimum response time.
