Officials who let him escape to face negligence charges

RAWALPINDI:

An under-trial suspect who was being presented in the district Kachheri, managed to escape from police custody.

Naimatullah, the accused, skillfully freed his hand from the handcuffs while appearing in court.

According to the police, the suspect had been in jail on judicial remand for a lock-breaking case. The accused had a previous case registered against him for theft at the Pirwadahi police station last year.

The police have launched an immediate search operation to locate the absconder.

Simultaneously, legal proceedings have been initiated against the police ASI and two constables who were responsible for the accused's custody during the judicial process.

These officials will face negligence charges as a case is filed against them.

During the incident, Naimatullah was brought to the court of Civil Judge Sadaqat Ali Khan from Adiyala Jail. The Civil Lines police station has taken charge of the search for the escaped accused.

Additionally, the footage from the courtroom's CCTV cameras is being thoroughly examined to gather any possible leads.

The police officers involved in the incident will face appropriate disciplinary action for their negligence.
