GUJRANWALA:

All CNG filling stations of five regions in Punjab remained open on Gujranwala Monday as the government decided to suspend weekly closure to facilitate inter-city travelling ahead of Eidul Fitr.

The CNG filling stations will remain open till September 4 without any weekly closure according to the government’s announcement.

According to Sui Northern Gas Pipelines spokesperson Awais Bajwa, gas supply to CNG stations in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Multan and Sahiwal will continue and the new loadshedding policy will be announced after Eid.

All Pakistan CNG Association supreme council chairman Ghiyyas Abdullah Paracha appreciated the decision and said people will be relieved and grateful for non-stop supply of CNG in the province. He thanked federal minister Dr Asim Hussain for his special favour to the CNG sector despite the annual closure of Qadir Pur Gas Field.

Locals in the area have appreciated the move and CNG station owners said that they were grateful to the government.

“This is peak time for filling at the stations and it will help facilitate travel during Eid,” said Masood a CNG pump owner in Gujranwala.
