Speeding, one way violations among top violations

Over 0.9 million traffic rules violations have been reported by the bikes in the provincial capital in first five months of the year.

These were the most numbers of violations as compared to collectively all other vehicles. City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) issued over 914,550 tickets to motorbikes for different kinds of traffic rules violations.

Speeding, one way violations, line lane violation remained at the top of the violations. At least 1,1148 tickets for violations were issued to cars and jeeps during the year. Over 263,000 tickets were issued to Qing Qi rickshaw drivers.

Over 52,000 tickets were issued to Public service, commercial vehicles. As many as 127,000 trucks, pickups and loaders were also fined for violations. Only 20,000 tickets were issued to commercial private vehicles. Over 3,433 challan tickets were issued to land cruisers and jeeps. At least 20000 challans were issued to tractor trolleys for traffic violations.

The data showed that the bikes were also involved in the most numbers of road traffic crashes. Out of total 39,000 road crashes, bikes were involved in at least 28,000 number of RTCs.

According to Rescue 1122, on average over 70% road traffic accidents on daily are of bikes. For example, on June 8, over bikes were involved in over 75% of road traffic accidents. At least 1,109 road accidents were reported on the day and the bikes were involved in at least 995.
