Amber Heard to reportedly publish explosive memoir

Actor plans on detailing her life, short-lived marriage to Depp, and the court proceedings of infamous defamation case

A year after the conclusion of Amber Heard’s highly publicised defamation court battle against ex-husband Johnny Depp, the actor is making headlines once again for her plans to write a memoir.

In the said autobiography, Heard plans on detailing her life, short-lived marriage to Depp, and the court proceedings that evaluated the validity of her domestic abuse accusations and her former husband’s counter-defamation claims.

As per Radar Online, the actor is making preparations to pen a tell-all memoir that will contain an in-depth retelling of her side of the story—an unfiltered and undistorted version of the narratives that were written and shared across social media platforms during the defamation trial hearings.

A lot of the online discourse surrounding the public trial was predominantly biased and representative of an anti-Heard sentiment, so it comes as no surprise that the Aquaman actor now wishes to defend her name and perhaps rectify some of the erroneous claims that were and still are made against her.

According to the sources close to Heard, she is seeking $15 million in exchange for the story that has captured public interest for years now, since the she published an op-ed in The Washington Post in 2018 in which she identified herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse”.

This op-ed not only launched her into the spotlight as an advocate for the #MeToo movement but also became the basis for Depp’s defamation lawsuit against her that was eventually ruled in favour of the complainant and left Heard with a due charge of $10 million in damages. “She won’t be silenced. She feels she was treated very badly during the trial,” wrote Insider in a report.

Many legal experts were baffled by the verdict on the defamation trial that was announced in June 2022, as previous court proceedings in the UK had found Depp guilty on counts of domestic abuse and sexual assault against Heard on multiple occasions.

An autobiography by the Aquaman actor will not just allow the actress to speak and share her truth in detail, but will perhaps also shed more light on some aspects of the trials that were not given as much coverage but were just as significant in piecing together the story of the Hollywood actors’ turbulent relationship, short marriage, and bitter court battles.
