KMC donates ten buses to KU

Gesture meant to enhance transportation facilities for students

KARACHI:

The University of Karachi (KU) has received a generous donation of 10 buses from the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to be utilised to enhance transportation facilities for the university students.

The official handing over ceremony took place at the Vice Chancellor Secretariat, University of Karachi, where a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between KU Vice Chancellor Dr Khalid Mehmood Iraqi and the KMC Administrator Dr Syed Saifur Rahman.

During the ceremony, administrator emphasised the significance of collaboration between academia and the government for national development and the resolution of social issues.

He acknowledged the substantial efforts made by universities and the role played by university professors in shaping policies globally.

Speaking on the occasion, KU Vice Chancellor, Dr Khalid Mehmood Iraqi, highlighted the role of universities as centres for creative innovation and research.
