Khosa said significant clues regarding Shahbaz’s abduction have been found during the investigation.
However, the Punjab Governor expressed dissatisfaction over the investigation which is being conducted by the provincial government.
Khosa claimed that the investigation was being carried out at a slow pace.
Earlier, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani met Taseer's family at their residence in Lahore to assure all support for Shahbaz Taseer's recovery.
Gilani assured the family that the federal government will help the Punjab Government in recovering Shahbaz. He added that police and other security agencies were working round the clock on the case.
As yet, investigations into Shahbaz Taseer’s abduction have led Lahore police to interrogate two servants, and seven employees and guards at his company.

Possible abductors
1.Zardari Via Rehman Malik Corrupt Agency 2.Salman Taseer had the second highest insurance policy next to BB .The policy is matured after his death.so it could be mafia work . 3.mullahs who want to protect qadri
Isn't it obvious to everyone? "It's a RAW/CIA/Mossad conspiracy to turn the people against Islam".
@Salma Agha:
Lets see the look on the liberal's faces if what you say is true! :D
@Sad Panda:
Fact is, that if there was any ransom demanded, or release of Qadri asked, we would have known by now. TTP or other extremists are very much vociferous, and had they done did this kidnapping, they would have released a video like they always do and made their demands public, and what better would it be by having a high profile personality in your grasp!
So get over that haughty demeanor of yours. No need to get emotional either. I have the right to express my opinion, and you should have the guts to tolerate it (and by the way this is what liberals preach others all the time).
@Bina Khan:
No need to get emotional and dramatic. I havent defended this abduction and even Qadri, and so its amusing to see your rhetoric packed with lies and the statements you concoct about me. And in the single stroke of the keyboard, the self-centred snobbish attitude of liberals exposes itself (again) and you have declared my views perverted just because they arent in line with yours. Shows how much "tolerant" liberals are in reality.
Ironically liberas are so worried about shahbaz taseer but I havent seen a single liberal shed even a crocodile's tear on those poor people murdered brutally by secular parties in power in Karachi.
@Gul Khan:
I agree.
@Uzair:
And if they turn out to be someone else, I hope your also ready to eat yours.
As much as I am dying to know about the development of this case and recovery of Shahbaz - the authorities should not be releasing so much information so soon. The more the abductors think that they are getting away with the abduction, the more likely they are to make blunders and leave clues behind. And then its up to Pakistani forensic investigators to find those clues - given that they are capable of carrying out a cohesive investigation.
How can they known he's alive? Khosa does not think before he speaks, either they got in contact with the kidnappers who told them he's still breathing or either he's just bluffing which he usually is.
He is being hidden in the Indian Embassy in Islamabad. I have talked to servants, who have told me so.
they only want qadri to be released. they r the same ppl who contemplated his fathers murder. now they r looking for a trapdoor to free qadri. this is not new in pakistan. police is also a silent spectator because by now they know this or probably they have be told to step down. police is not willing to trace him out because they know what we dont. there could have been several ways to trace him out. how may ppl are there who own a white or black prado??? they say he havent left lahore cause they had ceased the city looking for a black land cruiser, 2 days later they tell us it was a white cruiser, then how can they be sure that he havent left the city while they were looking for a black prado at city limits. They say its for ransom and the culprits are from tribals area. It cant be so, were they kidnapping him for ransom, then there are many other soft targets who are filthy rich and have no political association then why choose someone with such an immense political background and make the task difficult. Kidnapping or worse killing him will be counter productive for anyone with business rivalry, no business man would take such a risk unless he has a stronger political background. I strongly believe that the kidnappers are the same ppl who actually killed his dad and they are the ppl who are so clandestine that police cannot even touch them. The are shadows untouchable and ur eyes would be dazzled if u see them.
@jalal: lol! loved your second last line! i had this apprehension when i started reading your comment!
@Uzair: Yes, With relish. Meanwhile, eat and try to digest what The Norwegian Christian terrorist did. He sure did disappoint your breed as he did not turn out to be a Muslim. Atheists are better than you. At least they drive all the religions with the same stick. You are still talking about "Islamic extremists". You did not attend john stewart's rally to restore sanity. Did you?
farah this is how intelligence works!You track down people with phone calls, internet ips, forensics, cctv footage, defectors etc and follow their moves till they settle! And then, you pounce! He's in Lahore, perhaps in some underground terrorist sanctuary, the kidnappers are waiting for opportune moment to flee, police is buying time. InshaAllah he'll be recovered on Sept. 1,2011 after an underhand deal with the kidnappers...and then, its history! Lets hope and pray that Shahbaz Taseer and all others kidnapped for ransom/political affiliation are released and spend their eid with loved ones!These are my guesses ISI/FIA! Please dont attempt to follow me since its my perception based on news stories! Allah sab ko aman mein rakhay (Ameen)
@Gilani. What about the abduction of Iranian council general two years ago by the Taliban. What about the Pakistan ambassador to Afghanistan who was abducted by Taliban. How about Joint Chief of Staff's son in law who is still in the custody of Taliban. Shahbaz's family is mentioning that they have been receiving threats from Taliban and their affiliates? So the family is lying and you are right? You are accusing others of blaming taliban without any evidence but again you are no provided any evidence to prove your point. Taliban have been and know to have abducted people to raise money. This can be corroborated from Late Saleem Shahzad's book, in which he talks in detail about this money making taliban adventure. Iran has accused taliban and ended up giving them ransom to free their council general. Pakistan's ex ambassador is on record saying that it was Baitullah Mahsud and his men who abducted him. All this can be corroborated from online sources (which is your primary source of gathering information) and books written on this subject. Also. remember the Polish engineer who got killed during recovery operation was held by..... taliban. A young chap is missing and his family is in pain and here you are trying to lash liberals and what not.
I think it is smart that the government is choosing not to release information to the media at this point. Any information they provide us with, they also provide to the abductors, so we should all just hope for the best and wait.
@Uzair Every incident shall not be linked with TTP. It is most probably the job of foreign intelligence agencies with the help of foreign-funded Pakistanis. Even if police find any evidence that links this incident with CIA or RAW, it will be stopped to disclose it.
same as "two suicide attackers have entered the city" n why don't you catch them!
May Allah bring him back to his family safe and sound.
@Haris Mirza: where is he then?
God be praised that the young man is alive. May he be able to reunite with his family before Eid.
Dear Mr. Abdul Rehman Gilani,
If and when it turns out the abuctors are indeed Islamic extremists/taliban etc, then I hope you are prepared to eat your words.
Best regards, A liberal
^ and where is he?
I think that this case is beyond the extremists. They would have proudly announced abducting( and even killing) taseer by now. I think something is fishy. But the liberals are exploiting this incident for their own perverse agenda.
What is Pakistan coming to?
Here's wishing he comes back home safely...time to unmask the shameless people who abducted him has come
