The Sindh High Court (SHC) has ordered the interior and defence ministries, as well as senior police officials, to submit a report within three weeks in response to a petition regarding the recovery of 10 individuals, including three girls.
The order was issued by a two-member bench, headed by Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto, when the lawyer for the petitioner submitted that Zahir Ali, Shabana, Rais Uddin, Zain-ul-Abedin, Muhammad Waseem, and Khurram Shah, have been missing from Gulberg and Landhi areas, while Azhar Abbas, Nida, Nawab Ali, Shaista, and Nazakat Gulshan have been missing from Gulshan-e-Maymar, Pirabad, and Garden areas in Karachi.
The investigators informed the court that a letters had been sent to the detention centres requesting a report, but the concerned institutions have not yet provided any information. The search for the missing persons commenced following the registration of the case.
Meanwhile, the additional district and sessions judge, south, has summoned witnesses at the next hearing in a case involving grisly discovery of the body of a young woman, named Sara, on Seaview beach, near Do Darya.
The accused in the case, Waqas and Shan, were presented by the jail authorities. Their co-accused Bisma, out on bail, also appeared before the court. However, the plaintiff was absent.
