Court acquits three murder accused

According to the plea, the suspects were accused of murdering a schoolteacher

PESHAWAR:

Additional District and Session Judge Ataullah Jan on Monday acquitted three suspects, including the nominated school principal, in a murder case citing lack of evidence. Advocate Muhammad Ibrahim Khan represented the defendants of the case.

According to the plea, the suspects Bilal Ahmed Shah, Essa Khan, and Afzal Khan were accused of murdering schoolteacher Mehrab Nabi on April 15, 2019, within the jurisdiction of Peshawar’s Paharipura Police Station.

The victim's brother Ghulam Rabbani accused three individuals, including the school principal Bilal Ahmed Shah, of being involved in the murder.

During the hearing, the counsel for the suspects informed the court that his client is the principal of the school, while the other two suspects are his associates. He went on to add that the deceased Mehrab Nabi was found dead in a room of the school, and the accusation of murder was made against the school principal.

The counsel argued that the prosecution had not been able to present any evidence to prove that any of the suspects fired upon the victim.
