At least three people were killed in two incidents of gun assault in the garrison city on Monday.
According to a spokesperson for the police, a complainant named Mohammad Asif told the local police that he and his two sons named Shahbaz Ahmed Awan and Bashir Ahmed have been working as labourers with a contractor named Mohammad Naeem for five months. He said that Bashir and Shehbaz were on the way to their village on motorcycles along with Mohammad Naeem when they were intercepted by unidentified men near the gate of AWC Colony.
The armed assailants opened gunfire on my sons and managed to escape, he added. As a result, Bashir Ahmed and Shahbaz Ahmed sustained bullet injuries and later expired. The spokesperson said a case has been registered and the police have launched an investigation into the case.
In another incident, a man named Waseem Sultan told the police that he had left home for work on a motorcycle. As soon as he reached the main road, his brothers named Nadeem Sultan, Ali Safdar, and Abrar showed up. As he watched, armed assailants identified as Atif, Sajid, Saqib, and Mudassir approached them on two motorcycles and opened gunfire on Nadeem Sultan.
