Sheikh Muhammad bin Khalil Al-Qari, the Imam who led Taraweeh prayers at the Masjid-e-Nabwi, the mosque of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), has passed away in Madina, Express News reported.
The funeral prayers of the Imam will be offered at the Masjid-e-Nabwi while the burial will also take place in Madina, local media reported.
According to Arab media reports, Khalil Al-Qari, who is originally from Muzaffarabad, was also the Imam of the Masjid Quba in Madina.

Saudi authorities have conveyed their condolences and prayed for his forgiveness.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of the Imam. He offered prayers for the high ranks of the deceased and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family.
Sheikh Khalil Al-Qari, the father of Sheikh Muhammad bin Khalil Al-Qari, was also a renowned Qari in Saudi Arabia, and several of his disciples are currently serving as Imams in the holy mosques of the Kingdom.
