KARACHI:

Some areas of the port city, particularly the outskirts, received brief and scattered showers on Monday evening while most of the metropolis remained dry throughout the day.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has said that the city may experience hot and humid weather for the next two days with no chance of rain on Tuesday. The maximum temperature recorded on Monday was 33 degree Celsius.

The southwesterly sea breeze remained suspended, while the gusts of westerly winds from Balochistan blew across the city for most of the time through the day.

However, light and heavy rains were recorded in a few areas including Malir, Gulshan-e-Hadid, Pipri, Sher Shah Town, Steel Town, Cattle Colony, Shah Latif Town, Karachi Airport, Model Colony, Scheme 33 and Gulistan-e-Johar.

The clouds, however, hovered in different areas of the city, including Nazimabad, Gulbahar, Liaquatabad, North Nazimabad, Lasbela Bridge, Pak Colony, Site, and Baldia but did not deliver any precipitation.

According to PMD the western system bringing rain and thunderstorm has moved towards South Punjab, hence, there was no chance of more rains for the time being.

However, as a result of the effects of low-level clouds of sea and air pressure system at the local level, it is expected to be partly cloudy with mist and drizzle at some places.
