At least three people were killed in two different incidents in Rawalpindi on Thursday, police said. In the first incident, a man killed his newlywed wife and her ‘acquaintance’ in the Milad Chowk area of Sadar Wah police station. According to the police, the accused wanted to shift the bodies to Mardan for burial before he was arrested on a tip-off.
According to the police, Irfanullah married Rahima Bibi a few weeks ago. When Irfanullah returned home from work, he found his cousin Irshad with his wife in their room. He shot them both on the spot after he found them in an ‘objectionable position’.
After the murder, according to the police, the accused and his family members were preparing to take the bodies of both the victims to Mardan when the police and Rescue 1122 team reached the crime scene and arrested the suspect and took the bodies into custody.
The police shifted the bodies to a hospital for a postmortem. The police arrested Irfanullah and shifted him to the police station for further legal proceedings. In the second incident, a man, identified as Faisal Sharif, was killed allegedly by his wife and her alleged paramour in the Dhok Ghazi area of Jatli. Mudassir Sharif, the brother of the victim, told police that he was at work when Saad called him stating that Faisal Sharif was not feeling well and he was taking him to a doctor. He said that when he reached the clinic, he found his brother dead. He said that the body bore several wounds and a noose mark on the neck.
The complainant told the police that his brother was murdered by his wife and her alleged paramour Saad. The complainant said that Faisal and his wife were living in a rented house owned by Saad. The police arrested Saad and the victim’s wife who confessed to killing Faisal by tying a rope around his neck and beating him. The accused was also a friend of the deceased, police said. The police arrested both the suspects Sidra and Saad and started further investigation.
Meanwhile, four people allegedly raped a sevenyear-old boy in Madina Town Chowk in Pandori within the limits of the Kallar Syedan police station. The mother of the minor boy told the police that her son told her that Ahmad Khalid took him home and raped him. A day later, she said, the accused and his Anees Shazaib and Kamran sexually assaulted her son again in the field. The complainant told the police that the accused threatened her son with dire consequences if he disclosed to anyone about the alleged rape. Police after registering a case, arrested two suspects and raids were under way to arrest the other accused. Police said that the absconding suspect will be arrested soon and brought to justice.
Police return widow's bag with money
Meanwhile, wardens of the Rawalpindi city traffic police, setting a high example of honesty, returned the bag containing cash and valuable documents to a widow.
According to police, Inspector Kamran Siddique and traffic warden Amjad found the bag on the road containing a huge amount of money, an identity card and important documents. The police team traced the owner of the bag with the help of documents that belonged to a widow. Inspector Kamran Siddique and traffic warden Amjad returned the bag and money to the woman. The woman expressed her profound gratitude to the two policemen and appreciated their honesty. CTO Rawalpindi Taimur Khan announced a reward for the two cops for their honesty. He said that hardworking, honest and trustworthy officers and men were assets of the police department.
