Reporting trouble: Excise official nabbed for torture

MULTAN: Police officials arrested an Excise Department inspector, who allegedly tortured a journalist. Several raids are being conducted for the arrest of other officials involved in the case. Multan-based journalist Saadullah Khan went to the Excise office to pursue a story two days ago. According to eyewitnesses, there was an exchange of harsh words between the journalist and excise officials. Excise inspector Ziaur Rehman and constables tortured him and held him for several hours. Journalists protested outside the office for several hours and rescued Saadullah. Police officials have registered a case and arrested Zia. His accomplices are on the run.
