Exhumation of body ordered in domestic help murder case

Court seeks final challan once all reports are received

The officer investigating the murder case of a 12-year-old domestic help child who died after secvere torture by the owners, submitted an interim challan in the court of Judicial Magistrate East in Karachi City Court.

The officer informed the court that the post-mortem report had not yet been received and requested more time to submit the final challan.

The court postponed the hearing until May 3, and ordered that the final challan be submitted once all reports are received.

The court also ordered the exhumation of the deceased’s grave. Meanwhile, the two defendants, including accused woman Shireen, had their bail applications denied by the sessions court. They have applied for bail at the Sindh High Court (SHC) and are currently in judicial custody. The police reportedly found murderous tools at Shireen’s home.

The case was registered against the accused on the complaint of the deceased’s father, Rafiq, under murder provisions.

Missing persons case

The Sindh High Court has directed the Home Secretary, IG Sindh, DG Rangers, and others to produce a report on the recovery of seven missing people, including a citizen, Sami Ullah.

The petitioner’s lawyer stated that Samiullah was taken into custody on April 1 in the Mominabad region while other city residents who are missing from various parts of the city also need to be located.

The judge noted that 15 Joint Investigation Teams (JITs) had been formed to find other missing people, but the provincial task force meeting did not yield any results yet.
