Meghan doesn't want any more rifts: Former royal hopes her kids will be close to King Charles

The former actor will be celebrating her son’s birthday on the same day as the coronation

Despite the drama and gossip surrounding Meghan Markle's marriage to Prince Harry, and her strained relationship with her father, a source recently stated that Markle is eager for her children to have a relationship with their grandfather, King Charles, reported Page Six.

The source claimed, "Meghan doesn't want any more rifts. She wants her children to know their grandfather, Charles, particularly when they are not going to know their other grandfather." Meanwhile, palace insiders have confirmed that Charles is interested in being a part of Harry’s kids, Archie and Lilibet's lives.

King Charles' coronation and his grandson's 4th birthday on May 6 have exclusive invite lists. Meghan Markle is organizing a private celebration for Prince Archie's birthday with a limited number of guests.

Earlier this month, Buckingham Palace and the Sussexes announced that Markle will not be attending Charles’ coronation, leaving Harry to face his family alone. This is especially noteworthy, given that his tell-all memoir Spare went viral for its stories. While Markle wants her children to have a relationship with Charles, she is not attending the coronation to avoid stirring up any more drama, according to the source.

Harry's appearance also comes after months of tense wrangling between the palace and the Sussexes. The Duke had questions about where he would sit in the abbey – especially after he was relegated to the second row at his grandmother Queen Elizabeth’s funeral – and what security he would be provided amid his ongoing legal fight with the British government over safety measures.

Although an olive branch has been extended from the new King to Harry, the royal prince is still not speaking to his older brother Prince William. His appearance also comes after the release of his bombshell, in which he had claimed that his father did not even embrace him following the tragic death of his late mother, Princess Diana, in August 1997.

Harry may be facing a difficult time with his immediate family back in the UK but his cousins will be there to support him. The Prince remains on good terms with his cousins, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice. The latter's mother, Sarah Ferguson, is not invited to the coronation.
