KARACHI:

The Sindh High Court has fixed the formal hearing of a petition related to the killing of a young man of Larkana named Ahmed Brohi in the name of karo kari (hounour killing).

A hearing was held in front of a two-member bench headed by Sindh Chief Justice Ahmad Ali Shaikh on the charge of murdering Ahmed Brohi and dumping his body in Rohri Canal. The court converted the petition of Noor Bibi, the victim's mother, into a constitutional petition. The court fixed the formal hearing of the application on April 14.

The court remarked that a two-member bench headed by Justice Karim Khan Agha will hear Noor Bibi's petition.

A few days ago, the elderly woman came to the Sindh High Court from Larkana with her bare feet carrying the Holy Quran. In the application, Noor Bibi said that on January 27, her son Ahmed Brohi was kidnapped and killed.

After the order of the Sessions judge, a case was registered against the accused. The accused had convened a Jirga, the decision of which was in our favor. “The Jirga decided to give us Rs5 million rupees but I do not want to take the money. The murderers of my son should be hanged by the court.”
