Ayan Mukherji eyes 2026, 2027 for release of next two 'Brahmastra' films

The filmmaker has shared some exciting updates

Ayan Mukerji, the director of Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva has announced an official update regarding the much-awaited sequels. Brahmastra: Part Two - Dev and Brahmastra: Part Three will be made together, with both parts releasing closer together than originally planned. Mukerji shared the tentative release dates of the two sequels on his Instagram page. As per the post, Brahmastra Part Two: Dev will release in December 2026 and Brahmastra Part Three will release in December 2027.

“The time has come - for some updates on the Brahmāstra Trilogy, the Astraverse, and my life!” wrote the director in his post. “After absorbing all the love and the feedback on Part One, I have been focused on creating the vision for Part Two and Part Three - which I now know will be bigger and more ambitious than Part One! I have learned that we need a little more time to perfect the script of Brahmästra Two and Three!”

Mukerji also mentioned that he has been working on the vision for both parts of the movie and is determined to make them bigger and more ambitious than Part One. He further added that he has learned that they need a little more time to perfect the scripts of both parts. In the same post, Mukerji also revealed that he will be shooting Part Two and Part Three simultaneously.

Additionally, Mukerji shared his excitement for a new movie project that he will be directing. While he did not disclose the details of the movie, he expressed his eagerness to take on this challenge and contribute to Indian cinema. He wrote, "An opportunity that challenges me and terribly excites me - one where I will learn, be inspired and where I will grow! So, I have decided to take it up!"

Fans of Brahmastra have been eagerly waiting for the sequels after the success of the first part, which emerged as the biggest Hindi blockbuster of 2022. With Mukerji's announcement of the release dates, the anticipation for Brahmastra: Part Two - Dev and Brahmastra: Part Three has only increased.
