Corridors of Data Darbar to be expanded

Agreement signed for construction work to facilitate devotees

LAHORE:

The Madina Foundation will undertake expansion of the corridors around the Hazrat Data Gunj Baksh shrine.

Caretaker CM Mohsin Naqvi and Chairman Data Darbar Religious Affairs Committee and Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar were the chief guests at the signing ceremony of an agreement in this regard.

As per the agreement, about Rs160 million expenses will be incurred on the project.

The capacity of the corridors will be increased from 3,000 to 5,000 with the completion of the project.

NESPAK will serve as the consultancy firm.

The caretaker CM issued directives on the occasion to complete the project before the Urs of Hazrat Data Gunj Baksh. He said the system of Langar Khana would be improved to an international standard.

The provincial Auqaf secretary gave a briefing about the project.

Meanwhile, Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the primary and secondary healthcare department and handed over the keys of 98 ambulances under the Rural Health Ambulance Service to Caretaker Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare Dr Jamal Nasir.

He also handed over 300 ultrasound machines for basic health centres operating round the clock. Free ultrasound facility will be provided in the centres.

Mohsin Naqvi announced that a health week would be observed from the March 20 across Punjab. Screening of people will be done in the district and tehsil headquarters hospitals, as well as rural and basic health centres during the week.

Camps will also be set up for free medical examination.

The caretaker CM laid the foundation stone of the Health Information and Service Delivery Unit (HISDU) and Health Radio Station. The government hospitals system will be digitised after the construction of the HISDU.
