ISLAMABAD:

The National Assembly Special Committee on Affected Employees on Friday ordered regularisation of 783 workers of the Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) in two weeks.

Special Committee Chairman Qadir Khan Mandokhel presided over the meeting in which problems of the employees of different departments were reviewed.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) was also given orders to investigate the officers involved in illegal appointments in the National Heritage and Culture Division.

Referring to the illegalities in their appointments, the chairman said: “It is not the recruited employees’ fault.”

The officials informed the committee that 37 contract and daily-wage employees had been regularised in the National Heritage and Culture Division, disclosing that seven contract employees were overage and 22 were working in the division without any vacancy.

He also directed the finance ministry to ensure payment of the Radio Pakistan pensioners.
