Teacher Transfer: Schools Dept to decide matter

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Friday directed the Schools Department secretary to resolve a dispute over a teacher’s post in Jhang in one month and disposed of a petition against the cancellation of a transfer order. Petitioner Musarrat Yasmin had submitted that she was transferred to Chak Shumali School, Jhang, to replace a teacher named Fouzia, but her transfer was cancelled a few days later. She urged the court to declare the latter order illegal. During the course of the hearing, a representative of the Schools Department told the court that Yasmin had used connections to local MPA Yaqoob Sheikh to get her transfer orders while Fouzia deserved the appointment on merit.
